Most of the day was spent in cleaning/laundry/running mode. I put the finishing touches on the office gifts and sent them off for delivery. I had goodies delivered TWICE! I got to take a long, hot shower while Cougar napped for over 2 hours ... very unusual these days with his crib escaping antics. I got to go to a "fancy" dinner at a spendy new steak house with my husband and the other doctors and their spouses from the office courtesy of one of their contact lens reps. This is one of the few perks of having a husband for an eye doctor when you don't need vision correction ... great designer sunglasses and a (free) nice steak dinner once a year. Okay - there may be a few other perks but these are the ones that stand out :) Total bill for 9 people (5 of which were drinking NO alcohol) was just shy of $700 - and a $130 tip! It was worth every penny it didn't cost me!!! My petit filet mignon was fabulous and the chocolate lava cake was one of the yummiest desserts I've had in a while. I'm off to balance the checkbook .... never a good thing 3 days before Christmas ;)December 22, 2008
Makeovers
It was only a matter of time, really. In fact, I'm surprised it's taken as long as it has for this day to arrive. While I was downstairs cleaning today and readying our house for company to arrive the girls asked if they could do "makeovers." These are usually reserved for lazy Saturday afternoons when they have finished their chores, otherwise they would want to play with make-up all of the time!! I, of course, needed to get more work done, and since it was their first day home from school I agreed to let them play with their make-up. About 5 minutes later I had them running downstairs to show off how glamorous they were ... dress-up clothes were involved, too. Back upstairs they ran to complete their transformations. 10 minutes later they came down giggling with Cougar in tow - showing off his pink lipstick!! He was beaming from ear to ear over how "pretty" he looked!!! I gushed over how beautiful he was and off they ran saying "Let's go put on some eyeshadow!" The poor boy ... living in a house full of girly girls ;) Here was the final result (notice how pleased he is with his makeover):

Love it!!!! Shaelee used to love dressing Brady up!
I love that I always order petit filet mignon and dessert when it's on the company!
I can't believe how old Brinley is looking. She seriously looks like a Beehive already! Must be the makeup and tiara... :P
I love that Cougar loves it! Big sisters- so much fun for a little boy. Jack likes to put headbands on while I do the girls hair.
Hope you had a good disney trip and that you got home before the rain. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not I should go private with our family blog. I’ve decided to instead follow my friend’s blog where she has code names for her family. I am slowly going to convert my blog over to this, starting with changing the address from Ryan’s full name to www.growinuptogether.blogspot.com sorry for the inconvenience to ya’ll. Vicky
Lol! Love that Cougar wanted to join in the fun! I used to dress up my little brother and paint his nails. Good times!
Bry gets so mad when I let Ethan play "Pretty Pretty Princess" he loves wearing the earrings ;) Wow, I can't even imagine spending $700 for a dinner (my mind just can not grasp that one).
Beautiful kids! It's so nice to indulge them when they get a wild hair to do something....so rewarding to see them so happy! You are an awesome Mom. Glad you had a nice date with your sweetie, and comped to boot!! :)
Cougar looks so pretty! Its funny how little boys love to play what their sisters are playing and don't even know that its girly. I love it!
That photo is awesome! Love to see each kid's personality shine through. And he is precious! My husband grew up with three sisters but he won't let ME put make up on him...
Merry Christmas! Aloha, Sarah
