I got a call from the school nurse this afternoon letting me know that Brinley had fainted on the playground after lunch ... heat exhaustion. Of course she didn't take her water bottle out with her and didn't drink as much of her Gatorade as she should have at lunch because apparently she doesn't like grape! A bit nerve wracking to hear your child passed out and hit their head at recess, but she is just fine and is no worse for the wear ... perhaps now she'll remember to take her water bottle out to recess with her ;) The worst part is that it's supposed to be even hotter the next few days - 110 degrees + ... and it's almost September!

And I'm complaining about the heat here... guess I better toughin' up huh? Poor thing ! Hope she’s doing better. I’m sure she’s learned her lesson about “hydration”.
Tell her she better not forget that water! Poor thing, send her our love!
That is scary. Glad she is feeling better. Brandy always tells me how darling she is. Not just her but all of your kiddos. Darling BYU page too!
Isn't it amazing that they let these little ones out in 110' heat? When I went to school we actually had school closed days when it was too cold. . . I wonder if the same principal could be used in reverse. . . There is just something wrong about sending kids out in this heat with no water source and at an age where common sense doesn't yet mean much.
SOOOOOOO glad she's okay!!!
Oh how I don't miss those Phoenix days. The poor girl just want to play... I bet she was scared. No good can come from heat over 100 degrees. I honestly think that Phoenix needs indoor play grounds for the summer and outdoor ones for the winter. She needs to wear one of those back packs water bottle deals so she doesn't have to take the time to go get her bottle. And how habdy to have it attached to you!
Wow! Nothing like a scary call from the nurse's office. Glad it didn't have any lasting effects. Stay cool!
Talk about putting your heart into the pit of your stomach for like 12 seconds. 110 degrees... Utah doesn't get that hot... there's a nice house right down the way.
