Decorating the Tree

Finally getting around to posting a few pics of the kiddos decorating the tree last week. Of course we were getting the ornaments up in the evening and the light in the room where the tree is located is TERRIBLE (25 ft. ceilings and no overhead lights ... just a few lamps and windows with sun screens on them), and I wanted to shoot the photos without my flash - still learning. Anyway, I tried an underexposed photo fix on them and then ran a "rustic" treatment on them to get the green/brown tone. I really love the way the one of Cougar came out because it is so much closer and better lit.

The girls all just love to decorate the tree. They run down first thing in the morning to turn the lights on and point out a new favorite ornament every day. They are anxiously awaiting Saturday so they can start moving all of the advent calendars in anticipation of my birthday (which is what we REALLY count down to at our house)!! I finally got all the rest of the decorations up on Friday but haven't taken pictures yet - get that shocked look off of your face ;) We had our dear friends visiting from Idaho all day Saturday which was such a treat (pictures to come soon ... I took a ton - *surprise*) and we've been playing catch up from a busy holiday weekend! I've decided I may not sleep until after December 10th with all I've got to do for my church calling and getting things finished up on some Christmas gifts in order to get them here in time for the big day. Good thing I can function on minimal sleep most days! Enjoy the pics!!!

Love the photos!! I'm jealous!!! You have your tree up already. We are putting ours up next Monday for FHE. I have a lot of underexposed photos so I'll have to try the photo fix on them and maybe salvage some previously un-useable photos. Thanks for the motivation. Great photos and journaling!

You and your clan are welcome to come and decorate our tree :)! It will likely be mid-December before I get to it! Looks like fun though! Love the vintage look of all the photos too!

Wow! Your tree is looking great and it is so big. You have done a great job with the pictures and not using the flash (something I was trying the other day).

Love your pictures. I can't believe how big Cougar looks in his long pants. Too darn cute. I just finished my tree yesterday. Today I am doing the stairs & loft....I think I must be crazy to drag out all my stuff every year but then I see the grandkids faces light up and I realize it is all worth it. You have a beautiful family & tree!

Cute Tree! I just helped my parents put up their 12ft. tree, I guess that is the price you pay for being tall! I think all the pictures are super pretty! However I'm not a camera guru like you and John, so I probably wouldn't know any difference!
